Nuts and seeds contain 44–60% oil, depending on the variety. Since natural butter is made without additional stabilizers (such as hydrogenated oil), the oil will separate and rise to the top in a warm environment. Just mix the oil back in.

Frequently asked questions and answers
Why does the oil separate on the surface of the butter?
Do nut butter keep in the fridge after opening?
We do not recommend storing Granum butter in the refrigerator, as this may lead to a change in the texture of the butter. In cold temperatures, natural oils harden, making them less creamy and more difficult to spread. Butter should be stored in a dark place without a source of sunlight.
How do you roast the nuts and seeds used to make butter?
All our nuts and seeds are dry-roasted. We never use cooking oil.
Are your products allergen-free?
No. During production, cross-contamination with other nuts and seeds is possible. All butter from the Granum collection may contain the following allergens: peanuts, stone fruits (almonds, hazelnuts, and cashews), and traces of sesame.
Are your empty butter jars recyclable?
Yes. Our products are packaged in glass jars with metal lids, which are accepted by most recycling programs, but we do not currently take them back. We advise you to remove the label and carefully wash the empty jar and lid before recycling. All our packaging is BPA-free.
